some research
guhhh slow on the updates I am.
While I'm sorting through art to upload for now I'm just putting up some links to photostreams of actual asylums and abandoned buildings so I can keep the links stored somewhere for further use. Useful to know the layout of real asylums.

Update status
Uhhhhhhhhhhhh
Sorry about the lack of updates lately. Deadline on my dissertation's creeping up on me so I've been working on that.
In the mean time here's what Gretel looks like with the painter background behind her, yeh that background isn't finished yet. I'll try get a video up of it sometime and I did attempt to put a swf file up but I don't think it'll support that.

I'm also in the process of doing the walk directions for Gretel. Here's some of the progress in Flash;

I've also decided to go for a bit of a style change concerning some of the characters. I've decided to exaggerate the proportions of the characters so they look more stylised than before, making the designs consistent throughout as Gretel was already exaggerated compared to the others.
I will upload examples of this soon
:)

Update - Background and stuff
Hey
Sorry I haven't been keeping this as up to date as I should... ANYWAY
Here's some more backgrounds thta I've been doing, compiled in a mini collage (all done in Painter 10):

The far left one looks a little abstract but eventually that will be a forest area where the main antagonist, Baba Yaga resides. Far right is the Kuchisake-Onna's cell in the style of a traditional japanese dwelling and middle is Rapunzel's cell, which I have a larger image of;

Like the others it's unfinished but on the right is the tower where she lives. I wanted the area to come across as dirty and littered with trash because Rapunzel is a homeless girl.
I also imported the background into Flash to see if it looked okay when I published it, and it does! I will post it when I have a screenshot of it.
